2 year check up!
I can still remember that even though the boys were born at "healthy" weights, Jace 6.6 and Cade 5.13, our doctor wanted to see them every week from the time we left the hospital to make sure they would gain weight. I think he realized after the 3rd week that the boys had a lot of MY genes and were not going to have any problems gaining weight!
Jace has always outweighed his brother by a few ounces. Yesterday Cade finally broke the cycle and officially outweighs his brother. Jace is 29.5 pounds and Cade is an even 30. That boy can EAT! He's always the last one at the table and he's always asking for "mo..mo" which is "more, more". Jace is half an inch taller than Cade (35" versus 34 1/2") but that's always been the story.
I decided to look further back into Brittney's baby book to see what she weighed at their age because she was a porker growing up. I was apparently a bad mom b/c I stopped recording her age in her book at 18 months of age (surprising b/c she was my only child back then). But she weighed 30.9 pounds at 18 MONTHS!!!!!!! Go girl.
Anyway, the doctor was very pleased with their development and wasn't worried about their lack of speech. They understand everything we tell them, they just have their own language to communicate with each other and feel that "normal" speech isn't necessary right now. However, Jace has been a chatter box lately and loves to tell EVERYthing bye-bye. It's bye-bye bubba...bye-bye sissy...bye-bye bubbles...bye-bye dude...and sometimes he throws stuff in that we can't recognize.
And now let the terrible two's begin............
