Hi. Let me introduce myself. As you can read in my profile, I'm a mother of an 8 year old girl (Brittney) and twin 20 month old boys (Cade and Jace). Me and my husband work full-time but we have the best of both worlds when it comes to childcare. My mother retired early to watch her last two grandchildren grow up. (Yes, I'm absolutely DONE and so is my brother, my only other sibling, with 3 kids of his own!) It's been a wonderful set-up. I get lots of quality time with my kiddos plus I get to feel like a grown up and leave the house for 9 hours or so a day to have conversations with adults.

I have a new found respect for women who stay home. I couldn't even do it with my daughter (she was a horrible baby...or I was just a nervous freaked out new mother - probably a combination of the two). When my boys came along after years and years of trying, my respect factor came back into effect for the stay-at-home moms.

Anyway, my boys are very active. Much more active than my daughter was at their age. Brittney never liked outside (a lot like her mother) so it was great during the hot summers in Texas. Wow did things change when these little guys came along. They could stay outside day and night. It's only the beginning of the summer and it's already brutal out there. My poor mother is already experiencing hot flashes and the heat doesn't help her at all.

I wouldn't trade a thing in my life right now. We have a wonderful support group with my parents being 5-10 minutes away and my in-laws are about 20 minutes. We couldn't have survived the past 20 months without all the help. My #1 helper though is my daughter. She is the most loving and caring BIG sister. She absolutely adores her brothers. Of course she has a few spells of jealousy b/c they require SO much of my time, but all in all she handles it very well. We really make an effort to do "special" things with her without the boys and it's well worth it. Once the boys get a little older, my husband will be able to step in and help out more. Since his hands are affected by his injury, he's not able to do a lot of stuff for the boys yet (such as diaper changing .... DARN for him, or baths). I know there have been some diapers that he's thanking his lucky stars he didn't have to change (just kidding dear!)

I'm still experimenting with this site, so I'm going to keep this post short and sweet. I have LOTS and LOTS to talk about. I've been addicted to blogs lately so I figured why not start one too? We have lots of family that I can keep updated through the site also. Hope you come back soon.

Your twins are adorable (and very proficient climbing the slide, I see) and Brittney is beautiful. I would LOVE to have an 8-year old "big sister" at our house, I can only imagine what a huge help she is!

I hope you enjoy blogging. It has been such a great outlet for me. It's a good way to document what is happening in our lives (because I quickly forget!) and a wonderful catharsis. As an example, writing down my thoughts on Monty the other day was a tremendous help in my grieving, and it was so comforting to see all the warm responses. Sometimes I just send my thoughts out there - and I forget that people read it!!

And well, only when I *see* it on *paper* do I catch a glimpse of the humor in 2 babies splashing in a toilet, while a dog drinks out of it. These are the best times of our lives!!

I've bookmarked you! :)
